As you probably know, for some time now we have been putting our works online as they are in work in progress.
We want to share everything with you, and if not, what's the point of having a blog and a private online gallery.
1- sketch, which is the first step in everything we create, done by hand as always.
2- Create the colors, and palette this is the kind of sharing we want to do with you.
3- jump on illustrator to modify, or ad some details, and try the color palet
4- finalize on paper, and on canvas, some few elements or details can be a bite different from the previous step.
so feel free to browse around, and come back. nothing is ever final
of course, I document each work in video, and then I add it to the blog post by updating it.
All the elements in this canvas are their own creation, everything is hand sketching first, each detail, logo, typo or character.
Perfect balance, mix of their own creation and universe of predilection, Scien and Klor manage to sublimate their love for graffiti lettering by mixing it with graphic design.
The letter becomes the center of their production, the main subject, and the graphic elements come to emphasize it, it becomes a logo in a balanced layout.
123klan refuses to deny graffiti and to obey the law of the art market: "beyond graffiti" bullshit!
Graffiti is a major art of this century, a complete art that impacts the whole world.
It is a fact.
Whether we like it, or we hate it, this movement exists, and like all movements it has its real talents. Nobody can improvise himself as a graffiti writer, the apprenticeship and mastery of this art based on the architecture of the letter takes years of work on one's own style.
The beauty of this movement is the development of a personal style, the best of which is the best of itself.
123klan rebels in his works against the use, the reference, or even the honnoring of luxury brands in the street art World.
It's the height of pretending to come from the street and denying its beauty. That's why 123klan always includes a logo of its real environment. The choice of this reference is contextual, but also and above all graphic.
As you can see, even after moving to North America for more than 10 years,
the duo knew how to keep their sarcastic humour very French.
